A rundown of what we're doing,
watching, reading, coveting.
Here's what's got our attention this week.
  • John has been showing me clips of the new Borat movie, and I’m sneaky excited to cringe laugh tomorrow night when it debuts. You’ve heard about the scandal it reveals right? Yowza! + WTF

  • We’re getting excited about Halloween, even though it’ll be a little different this year. I think we’re going to go out in the neighborhood in our costumes before it gets too crowded. Once it gets dark, I want to surprise the kids with this glow-in-the-dark trick!

  • I’ve been using this cut-out bat template for Halloween decor for years, and it never fails to pack a punch. We usually set it up on a wall to use as a cute Halloween costume photo-opp backdrop. If you’re not up for making them yourself, there are a few Etsy sellers making them. Here’s one lot of 15 6” bats under $12 + free shipping.

  • This is our very first Halloween with our own front door, and India is super interested in halloween decorations. I’ve never been that excited about them so I was dragging my feet about doing anything beyond a nice big pumpkin. Then I saw this idea from Erin Jang, and I jumped right on it. This could not be simpler or cuter, and now that my supplies have arrived India and I are going to line the stairs for all the neighborhood to see!

  • Bethenny Frankel has a podcast. You either love her or hate her (or have never watched The Real Housewives of New York and don’t know who she is), but I love her. She’s talking about business which is a double win for me. They’re quick and there are some good little nuggets in there. You can skip Paris Hilton, but I really enjoyed Bozoma Saint John and Mark Cuban.

  • We have an amazing toddler hand-me-down winter jacket from Polarn O. Pyret. India’s school lives by the motto, “there is no bad weather, only bad clothes,” so we’ve really put it to the test ! Since loving this jacket I find myself searching the site for anything we need to withstand the most brutal elements--winter and toddlers. They’re having a preseason outerwear sale, so if you’re in the market for the months ahead, I highly recommend you look here.
