A rundown of what we're doing,
watching, reading, coveting.
Here's what's got our attention this week.
  • I think I’ve shared Emily Oster’s writing earlier this year, but after a recent scare of coronavirus exposure (we’re fine!) I thought I’d share this article that speaks to the virus as it relates to children specifically. Hearing from trusted data driven sources really helps me, and I hope it helps you too as we approach this school year of total uncertainty.

  • On that note, as I try to focus on the bright spots while staring down a school year that looks anything but bright, my friend Linsey offered up the most beautiful reminder for us parents here

  • How beautiful are these potholders? We haven’t touched our looms in a while, but these images made me want to dust them off! Especially on these crazy hot days when we need a little break from the heat. Purl Soho sells a loom kit that has everything you need to get started. They also sell the cotton loops in beautiful single colors (most you’ll find online are multi-colored) if you like a limited color palette like me :) Always excited to have an on-going craft project with the kids!

  • Makeup has really become a thing of the past for me. It was hard enough to get anything on my face with two kids when I was out in the world everyday. Being home 90% of the time, and with three kids…forget it ! I recently bought Supergoop Glow Screen, which is the perfect thin layer of a dewy glow to feel a little refreshed (add mascara and that’s about as far as I’ve gotten in five months), plus it’s SPF 40 for these sunny days.

  • A friend of mine had her first baby girl a week after Mathias was born, also at the height of the pandemic, also in NYC. Her sister wrote about her role, based in the Chinese tradition of zuo yue zi  interwoven with the difficulty of this time, for Healthyish. It’s a really touching piece that you can read here

  • India and Major saw these shoes on a friend’s feet and both went bananas for them ! They are sold out on most sites, but are still available here. There are few times I impulse purchase because of their reactions, but this is one. What a cute collaboration.
