A rundown of what we're doing,
watching, reading, coveting.
Here's what's got our attention this week.
  • BLT Tacos were a big hit this week. It’s really just adding bacon to the usual taco bar line up, but the naming of it was what hooked me. I love BLTs and tacos. This was a nice and super simple change up from our usual taco toppings.

  • Speaking of changing it up, this plate of hot dogs made me laugh. Right now I’m all about little changes to the norm that make things interesting. I think my kids would be totally delighted by this!

  • We did a big tye die batch last weekend for the kids, and all week they have been sporting their wears. I keep saying it (and I’ll probably keep saying it) but I’m loving all the bright colors right now. These tie dye creations on their bodies are just so happy! We’ve used this tie dye kit many times (they’re single use, so we’ve bought this same kit multiple times) and comes with everything you need except for the clothing you want to dye. We did sweatshirts for the first time, and I was jealous we didn’t have one in my size!

  • I have to admit--following Clare Vivier, Heather Taylor, and Laurel Pantin on social media had me wondering if I myself needed (“needed”) strawberry crocs. Fortunately or unfortunately, The Strategist came out with an article on the trend, and they sold out before I could make up my mind. Independently Josh insisted on getting these for himself (his second pair) and these for Major (India has pink hand-me-downs). All of a sudden all my photos look like croc ads - help ! But I have to say, they are such easy comfortable shoes, and perfect for little kids in summer - easy on, easy off, easy to get wet and easy to dry. #quaranitnetrends

  • “ ‘Lord Have Mercy’: Inside one of New York’s Deadliest zip codes” is a video by The New York Times about the past several months in the Rockaways. It is very difficult to watch, but is an important reminder of the gravity of and the disparities in this situation.

  • I know I’m late to this follow, but @tanksgoodnews is really brightening my days. I’m so sick of news headlines being all doom and gloom with the articles basically just saying the same thing every time. These little bright spots can really contribute to a more positive day for me.
