A rundown of what we're doing,
watching, reading, coveting.
Here's what's got our attention this week.

  • I didn’t know it was possible to preserve foliage until our assistant Hannah brought in beautiful cut branches that look + feel completely real - and they are! but they’ve been preserved and will last months, maybe years! The preservation process involves cutting fresh flowers when they are the most beautiful and radiant. Instead of leaving them to dry, they undergo a rehydration process by being placed in a mixture made from glycerine and other plant elements. This liquid gradually rises through the trunk until it completely substitutes the sap. After a few days, the process is complete and the plant is ready to be used, with minimal care + upkeep and look great! I love these for their color + shape, and this pretty cedar branch, this eucalyptus + these greens all feel like a great way to have something green around in winter, even in the rooms that don’t get any light.

  • I’m thrilled to report that we’ve finally found the perfect cheap LED light bulb. Warm light, dimmable. Omg why did it take us so long!

  • For Halloween, Griffin was a cyborg (a term I had to google–part human, part robot) and the key piece to his costume was this awesome adhesive strip of battery operated LED lights. They can change color, via remote! And you can even cut the strip every 3 lights, which makes it super fun for other craft projects. It really blew our minds. My nephew loved the costume so much that my sister suggested giving him a robot kit for his birthday, which was such a sweet + fun idea. Cardboard, duct tape and this strip of lights. So fun for a curious hands-on kid!

  • Loving this beautiful new lighting series, Archetype (launched at the Glass House !!), from Workstead. I’m especially into the Block Sconce and the Vault Pendant. I’ve been a fan of theirs for years, but am especially impressed with lines that continues to evolve and put out thoughtful work over the years.

  • “Microsoft found that implementing a four-day work week led to a 40% boost in productivity”

  • It’s getting colder, and India can't get enough of snuggling up to this blanket. It is so soft and cozy, and the perfect size for a crib. Not too small, not too big.
