A rundown of what we're doing,
watching, reading, coveting.
Here's what's got our attention this week.
  • My iphone case of a couple years has been falling apart, and I recently replaced it with one that is 100% compostable, (!!) made from linseed plant waste grown by a farmer near the company’s headquarters. Plus, they’ll plant a tree for every phone case purchased and donate 4% of the net price of each sale to causes that promote sustainability and tackle issues such as climate change. And I love the case. It’s slim, with a nice matte finish + minimal branding. Of course, a good company, the company that makes these cases (and other sustainably made items we need / buy), was created by those incredibly thoughtful + resourceful Swedes.

  • Having a (new) pet is providing our kids with a whole new set of chores. (Let’s hope it sticks!) They are so eager to walk her and feed her. We just got this big food storage container for her dog food. I chose it for its lean lines + price tag, but it’s a great size for the kids to manage taking on + off the shelf themselves, too.

  • We’ve been making lots of banana bread lately (thanks to lots of brown bananas, as it goes), and this recipe from Food52 founder Merrill Stubbs never fails. It’s just the basics, so we always have the ingredients on hand and whips up in no time. We made it for Griffin’s class this week and added chocolate chips. He was happy to report: “Mom, everyone LOVED it!” What’s not to love?! :)

  • I just discovered this artist, and I’m in love with his work !

  • When India doesn’t want me to pull her hair back and I say, “What should we do with your hair?” She says “I want it in my face” :), so now I’m on the hunt for some great barrettes for her Easter basket, hoping they’ll be a compromise between a ponytail and hair everywhere. I am loving these cuties from Hello Shiso, and the old school Goody Barrettes my mom put in my hair for YEARS.

  • These pretty colors stopped me in my tracks this week. Come on Spring !
