Mariame is a mom of two and a baker. In this mini-series, she shares how her family enjoys candy judgement-free one day a week, taking photos as visual memory and the comfort of re-watching tv shows. Enjoy meeting Mariame!
What’s your favorite family tradition?
“Saturday Candy Day” is the one day a week where unlimited candy is allowed without any judgment. It’s something we all look forward to.
What are three things you always have with you?
I always have my phone handy to capture quick photos of the kids. Everything is always cute, so I need a memory of it. Snacks are a must-have in the bag and of course bandages.
Favorite recent read / watch / listen?
A few weeks ago, my husband took me to a jazz concert for our weekly date night. Initially, I wasn’t too excited because we usually have different taste in jazz, but we ended up seeing Stanley Clarke perform with some up and coming jazz musicians. It turned out to be one of the best date nights we’ve had!
What’s your favorite way to unwind?
I love rewatching old shows I’ve already seen. Right now, I am watching Gilmore Girls for the third time. It brings me so much warmth and comfort, plus I can enjoy it without needing to pay full attention.
Tell us about a mother you admire.
The mother I admire most is my own. She made the courageous decision to move to a new country with her three daughters, sacrificing everything to give us opportunities she never had. She’s my biggest inspiration and always knows how to lift me up when life gets tough.
Mariame’s Lewis FavoritesMy daughter absolutely loves Lewis pajamas. She won’t go to bed unless she’s wearing a pair. She loves the different prints and color combinations. My favorites are the dresses. I find them very easy to layer if needed and very comfortable material.
