What’s your favorite family tradition?
Friday movie night is our little ritual. It starts with park and ice cream after school, then the kids pick dinner, usually something on the unhealthy spectrum, and then we all curl up for a movie together. Lately it’s been a rotation of Inside Out, Ratatouille and Annie.
What are three things you always have with you?
My phone, with wired headphones (because I lose more stuff than my kids). Sunglasses. And a hair tie, always.
Favorite recent read / watch / listen?
I saw Good Night, and Good Luck on Broadway a few weeks ago. It was stunning–one of those productions that lingers. I keep catching myself thinking about the ending.
What’s your favorite way to unwind?
I love reading journalistic deep dives, like this one. And swimming, though I don’t do it nearly as much as I’d like.
Tell us about a mother you admire.
If I were to name one, it would be my “Oma”, my grandmother. She had a quiet strength about her and a lasting impact on me. I have so many memories of her. She used to make these amazing meals for Christmas for the whole family and she always had everyone’s favorite Ritter Sport chocolate tucked away in her cupboard. A few years ago, I actually turned some of her handwritten recipes into a little cookbook.
Anita’s Lewis Favorites1. Lewis jammies – they work everywhere, especially when we travel.
2. My Lewis Zip Pouch Set goes everywhere with me. It holds my makeup and more hair ties. My daughter loves the smallest size in the set for all her knick-knacks.
3. Lewis sweatshirts are great. I like to size them up so the kids can swap, and they look cute over leggings.
